New Patient Intake Coordinator

At, ELM we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the intake process for new patients. As the primary point of contact, you will collect and document patient information, demographics, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

At, ELM we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the intake process for new patients. As the primary point of contact, you will collect and document patient information, demographics, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and record patient information accurately
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits
- Schedule appointments for new patients
- Coordinate with law offices, the Marketing Director, and practice staff to schedule patients with the right physician
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from new patients
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a smooth intake process
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- An associate's degree or certification in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, medical office administration, or a similar field)
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting, preferably in patient intake, scheduling, or customer service roles
- Experience with EClinicalWorks or another EMR/Practice Management System is required
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not require
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records
