  • Execute a full range of clinical psychological diagnostic, strategies, procedures, and intervention services for children birth through 21 years of age with developmental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
  • Carry out psychological assessments for children who exhibit chronic behaviors of unsatisfactory adjustment or have a chronic history of emotional impairment.
  • Administer, score and interpret psycho-diagnostic tests used for diagnosing mental, personality, and behavioral disorders for children and adolescents with complex interpersonal developmental disorders as an independent clinician.
  • Interview and integrate interview information with psycho-diagnostic test data to establish and fortify psychological diagnoses in accordance with criteria in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).
  • Provides direct therapy, consultation, and co-teaching models of services to children with identified psychotherapy needs as indicated by evaluation.

  • This position may have specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties may require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.

  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

  • Immunization screening may be required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • May be required to possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.ANDLicensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
