Job Summary
The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This position involves working closely with patients in a hospital or inpatient setting, assisting them in their daily activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The Mental Health Technician will collaborate with clinical staff to implement treatment plans and provide direct support to patients, fostering a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns to the clinical team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and engage patients in motivational interviewing techniques.
- Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by clinical counselors or therapists.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and interactions in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving mental health treatment practices.
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a hospital or inpatient setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and its application in mental health treatment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with clinical counseling techniques and psychotherapy practices is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working with individuals who have disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in mental health care.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
