Overview

Investment Reporting Analyst Objective

To provide analytical and technical support, specializing in investment reporting, performance measurement, credit reporting, and financial analysis, for Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company of Michigan, Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Michigan, Farm Bureau General Insurance Company of Michigan, Community Service Acceptance Company (CSAC), Cincinnati Equitable Life Insurance Company (CELIC), and Cincinnati Equitable Insurance Company (CEIC) to assist Investments Division management in maximizing both quality of and return on investments within the guidelines of the annual investment plan and the provisions of the investment policies.



Responsibilities

Investment Reporting Analyst Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses for insurance company portfolios

 

Conduct in-depth analysis of current and past financial data, identifying trends, variances, and performance on both internal and industry averages

 

Monitor and report changes in credit risk of existing investments within the insurance company portfolios

 

Prepare and submit periodic reports for presentation at the Investment Committee

 

Analyze fixed income securities to determine investment suitability and communicate research findings in a manner that accurately summarizes investment risks

 

Assist in the preparation of the annual Investment Division budgets and investment related sections of rating agency and regulatory filings

 

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current investment opportunities and strategies

 

Serve as the primary backup for the Cash Management and Operations Technician

 

Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects, also provide general analytical assistance and operation support to the Senior Portfolio Manager, and Investment Analyst



Qualifications



Investment Reporting Analyst Qualifications

 

Required

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required

 

Two or more years of experience required

 

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

 

Preferred

Financial experience and demonstrated analytical experience preferred

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred. Experience with Adobe Pro preferred.
