About Job

Peer Specialist/Peer Mentor/Patient Advocate. Come and share your story, as a paid staff member of Team Wellness Center to clients in our jail diversion program. A Peer specialist is a person who has experienced mental illness and/or substance abuse but has successfully maintained recovery and stability for a least a year. Now, use your testimony to advocate for others as they start and/or continue their journey of recovery. Encourage them to remain engaged with treatment. Model the techniques used to overcome temptation and demonstrate the advantages of being a patient of a primary care physician, psychiatrist, and social services support team.
