About Job

About Us

At Little Champs Therapy & Yoga (LCTY), we believe in the healing power of creativity, connection, and holistic care. As a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, we support individuals and families through personalized therapy rooted in empathy, innovation, and excellence. We're seeking a talented Music Therapist to help us continue making a difference—one note at a time.

Position Overview

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our growing team. This role involves providing individualized and group music therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in clinical, community, and telehealth settings. The ideal candidate will use music as a powerful tool to promote emotional expression, cognitive development, physical rehabilitation, and social interaction—helping clients reach meaningful therapeutic goals while building strong, supportive relationships with them and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic Sessions: Facilitate music therapy sessions tailored to individual and group needs, using instruments, voice, and rhythm to promote therapeutic outcomes such as emotional regulation, communication, motor skills, and cognitive functioning.
  • Assessment & Goal Setting: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify client needs and strengths. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop personalized, measurable treatment goals.
  • Treatment Planning: Design and implement music-based treatment plans utilizing a range of musical styles and approaches. Regularly review and adapt plans based on client progress and evolving needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, including session notes, treatment updates, and progress reports in compliance with agency standards.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with fellow clinicians—speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and others—to ensure a cohesive, integrated approach to client care.
  • Family Engagement: Educate and support families and caregivers, providing tools and strategies to reinforce therapeutic goals through music at home. Offer family consultations as needed.
  • Supervision & Mentorship: Guide and mentor therapy interns, assistants, and students in music therapy, contributing to their professional development within a supportive environment.
  • Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in music therapy. Actively participate in continuing education, workshops, and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in music therapy, preferably working with children and families in clinical or community settings.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in multiple instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, percussion) for therapeutic use
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based music therapy interventions
  • Skilled in treatment planning, assessment, and documentation
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical reporting standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and engage clients of diverse ages and abilities

Personal Attributes

  • Empathetic, warm, and genuinely invested in client well-being
  • Creative and adaptable, with a passion for using music to foster connection and growth
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
  • Motivated, self-directed, and dedicated to continuous learning and improvement

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience
  • Flexible scheduling with remote/teletherapy options
  • Ongoing professional development, certifications, and training support
  • Supportive, inclusive, and mission-driven team culture
  • Opportunity to work with diverse populations and make a meaningful impact
