Position Details

• Location: Portland, OR (mileage reimbursed)
• Employment Type: Contract position with potential for increased hours based on performance and availability
• Responsibilities: May include driving, assisting with transfers, and supporting activities of daily living (ADLs) when necessary

Requirements

• Certification: CTRS in good standing with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
• Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited university
• Professional Liability Insurance: Must have or be willing to obtain upon hire
• First Aid/CPR Certification: For both pediatrics and adults (must have or be willing to obtain upon hire), training must be through either American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Transportation: Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current full-coverage auto insurance
• Technology: Tablet for documentation
• Background Check: Ability to pass a background and driving history check
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Optional but strongly encouraged

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Education: Master’s degree from an accredited university, with at least one degree in Therapeutic Recreation
• Experience: Working with brain injury, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), mental health populations, and/or veterans
• Military Connection: Military service or experience working with the veteran population
