MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Clinician is involved in working with all disciplines of the Behavioral Health Unit to attain effectiveness in serving our patient population.

MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
• Performs administrative consults for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
• Performs specific psychiatric social service work on the Behavioral Health Unit of a Correctional Facility.
• Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
• May direct special projects as requested.
• Participates in and conducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
• Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
• Attends training and meetings as required.

MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
• MUST be licensed (i.e., LCSW, LPCMH), or actively working toward a license.
