Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lead Fire Alarm Systems Technician to join our team. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in various buildings. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and electrical systems. The ideal candidate should have excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair fire alarm systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with national and local fire safety regulations and standards.
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in fire alarm systems, replacing faulty components as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and educate clients on system operation.
- Assist in fire safety training and fire drills.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in fire alarm technology and safety regulations.
- Required to participate in on-call rotation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Fire Alarm Systems Technician.
- Must have a valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fire safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in fire alarm systems is required.
- Must reside within a reasonable distance from our Brooklyn location.
- Valid driver's license and approval to drive from our insurance company is required.
Work Environment:
This role requires fieldwork, which may include working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions. Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions may occur.
