Registered Behavior Technician/ Behavior Technician

A Registered / Behavior Technician is responsible for the day-to-day execution of a client treatment plans. This role will work under close, ongoing supervision from a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst—a BCBA, BcaBA or ABA Program Supervisor. This includes the implementation of a treatment plan developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst that could include addressing communication, behavior, feeding, ADLs and social skills. The technician will also monitor the progress of a treatment plan and work closely with the supervisor to update the treatment plan as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct ABA therapy services to clients as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete clinical data collection and daily paperwork in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner.Convert all sessions within the clinical system in the timeframe allotted in the conversation policy.
  • Provide input and assistance to other staff, as needed.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of instructional and clinical materials.
  • Participate in ongoing communication with client’s team.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and Individual Treatment Plans correctly and as directed by supervising BCBA.
  • Respond to and manage crisis situations as they relate to clients with potential for physical aggression.
  • Refer clients and parents to appropriate staff members regarding therapy or non-therapy related questions.
  • Attend client meetings as needed while being respectful and sensitive to family dynamics.
  • Attending all required staff meetings as needed. Maintain certifications and training required for the position. (e.g., RBT certification, crisis training, CPR and First Aid, etc.).
  • Able to communicate expressively and receptively in order to follow individual plan requirements and beneficiary-specific emergency procedures and to report on activities performed.
  • Comply with the Orchid Autism Health Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, HIPAA regulations, policies and procedures, and all other regulations, laws, and other guidance relevant to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.RBT Supervision Requirements
  • As an RBT, you must practice under the close, ongoing supervision of a qualified RBT Supervisor and/or RBT. Requirements Coordinator who are responsible for the work you perform. The purpose of ongoing supervision is to improve and maintain your behavior-analytic, professional, and ethical repertoires, and facilitate the delivery of high-quality services to clients (i.e., any recipient or beneficiary of behavior-analytic services). All activities must comply with the respective Codes (i.e., RBT Ethics Code [2.0] for RBTs, Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts for RBT Supervisors and RBT Requirements Coordinators). For that reason, you must meet the supervision requirements at each organization where you are providing behavior analysis services.

Appropriate activities.

  • RBTs may perform activities that behavior technicians typically perform. These activities are determined by their supervisor(s) and may include conducting preference assessments, implementing discrete-trial teaching procedures, and generating session notes, among others.
  • Amount of supervision. You must obtain ongoing supervision for a minimum of 5% of the hours you spend providing behavior-analytic services each calendar month.

Education:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Certification as Registered Behavior Technician, or ability to become certified before providing services (Orchid Autism will provide training towards this certification)

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Experience working with children and families is preferred.
  • Minimum of basic level proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position, to include lifting of clients, packages, or equipment, accessing non-barrier free premises, and utilizing physical management techniques when required.

Pay Rate: $17 upon proof of RBT certification

Salary: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
