Child Psychiatrist (Remote)

Location: Remote - California

Schedule: Part-Time - around 10-20 hours per week

Compensation: $190-$200 per hour + internet/cell stipends

Role Summary

We are seeking a Child Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric consultation and medication management services for children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and co-occurring behavioral health needs. In this fully remote role, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, caregivers, and community providers to support positive clinical outcomes and improve quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist who enjoys consultative work and wants to make a meaningful impact on an underserved population.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for children and adolescents with IDD, ASD, and behavioral health needs.
Monitor psychotropic medications, assess treatment effectiveness, and make recommendations regarding medication adjustments when appropriate.
Prescribe medications and maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal prescribing requirements.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, behavior specialists, service coordinators, primary care providers, and community agencies.
Provide clinical consultation to families, caregivers, and service providers regarding psychiatric diagnoses, treatment planning, and behavioral health interventions.
Review medical, psychiatric, educational, and behavioral records to support clinical decision-making and treatment recommendations.
Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary meetings to support coordinated, person-centered care.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and professional standards.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Active California medical license in good standing.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Current DEA registration with the ability to prescribe medications in California.
Experience working with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or complex behavioral health needs preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and interdisciplinary care teams.
