Duties
- Provide peer-led support to adults experiencing mental health or substance use challenges, fostering empowerment and self-advocacy.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to de-escalate situations and ensure safety during behavioral health crises.
- Apply crisis management techniques to respond effectively to urgent situations, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Conduct motivational interviewing to encourage clients’ motivation for change and recovery goals.
- Offer mentoring by sharing personal recovery stories and guiding clients through coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop individualized recovery plans that reflect clients’ strengths and preferences.
Experience
- Lived experience with mental health challenges or addiction recovery is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
- Prior experience in behavioral health, social work, or related fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- APSS certification
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, crisis management protocols, and behavioral health principles is essential.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships are critical for success.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus but not mandatory; training will be available. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
