School Therapist/Social Worker

Working Conditions: Contract, Full time, On Site position M-TH 9am - 3pm and Friday 9am - 2pm, Hybrid available for seeing clients with the private practice
Position Summary: The school therapist position is responsible for providing therapeutic services, including IEP services, to the students of the specific school/program they are assigned. The school therapist will provide a therapeutic presence within the school/program. This position is a 1099 for the first year.
Responsibilities
● Provide psychotherapy and counseling to clients, individually and in a group setting, to assist them in meeting their goals.
- Evaluate clients’ mental condition based on interviews, assessments, observations, and collaboration with other members of the clinical treatment team.
- Participate in IEP/504 plans and meetings.
- Provide therapeutic training and skills to school/program staff as needed.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical knowledge and experience.
- Use evidence-based skills and interventions based on clinical knowledge.
- Modify treatment approaches and interventions every 6 months to complement treatment plans.
- Submit biweekly productivity sheets to the correct department in a timely fashion.
- Maintain all professional licensures required.
- Submit all clinical notes for services within 48 hours.
- Prepare and maintain all treatment records.
- Maintain confidentiality of client records and treatment.
- Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
● Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field.
● District of Columbia Licensure as one of the following: LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LICSW, LGMFT, LCMFT, or similar license.
● Ability to operate onsite, remotely, and have a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
● Committed to serving vulnerable individuals and those who are of a marginalized culture.
● Ability and willingness to collaborate with the staff and clinical team within the practice and third parties.
● Strong written and oral communication skills.
● Skilled in the ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
● Ability to operate to the highest ethical standard and professionalism, including confidentiality.
● Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DC and Maryland dual Licensed Therapist/Social Worker
- Knowledge of Electronic Health/Medical Record Systems and Microsoft Products
- Knowledge of school age appropriate interventions.
- Innovative and proactive.
- Experience with speaking and/or facilitation workshops and training.
- Able to practice with minimal direct supervision.
Compensation: $67,000 - $104,000/yr based on experience and licensure. ($44-$52/hr)
