Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment and independence goals. In this vital role, you will assess clients’ needs, develop personalized rehabilitation plans, and provide ongoing support to foster their success in the workforce. Your expertise will help clients overcome barriers, enhance their skills, and connect with meaningful employment opportunities. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ abilities, interests, and barriers to employment, including those with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation plans that align with clients’ goals, strengths, and needs while ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws.
  • Provide counseling on employment options, workplace accommodations, addiction recovery strategies, and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with employers, community agencies, and training providers to facilitate job placements, internships, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Offer mentoring and coaching to clients throughout their job search process, including interview preparation and workplace integration.
  • Lead training sessions on topics such as social work practices, disability awareness, and workplace readiness for clients and staff.
  • Maintain detailed case records, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay current on employment law updates and best practices in vocational rehabilitation to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Cocnduct groups daily.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor or in a related social work or workforce development role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Background in addiction counseling or substance abuse recovery support is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, recruit, and train diverse populations effectively.
  • Skilled in interviewing techniques, needs assessments, and developing tailored intervention strategies.
