Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical research methods and medical terminology.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral health interventions, and applied behavior analysis.
  • Deliver specialized care for populations including children with autism or developmental disabilities, geriatrics with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairments, and individuals with PTSD or addiction issues.
  • Utilize EMR systems for accurate documentation of medical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and CPT coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage crisis situations through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers on intake procedures, patient care coordination, case management, and diagnostic coding (ICD-9/10).
  • Engage in social work activities such as community outreach and home visits to support patients' social determinants of health.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development through participation in clinical research projects and staying current with medical records standards and mental health practices.
  • Support patients with special needs by applying expertise in working with people with disabilities or those requiring special education accommodations.

Requirements

  • Fully licensed as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC with valid certification in the state of practice.
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient confidentiality and medical records management.
  • Experience working within hospital settings or community care environments is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, clinical counseling sessions, group therapy facilitation, and case management activities.
