Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Clinician who will play a key role in promoting stability and quality of life for adult clients through person-centered strategies tailored to address behavioral challenges. This role involves working with clients, caregivers, families, and multidisciplinary team members to develop practical, strengths-based plans that improve day-to-day functioning and support long-term well-being. Support is provided in homes, community settings, or via telehealth, and may be coordinated with the greater care team and other providers.

Travel throughout Grays Harbor County and surrounding areas is required. When not in the field, you’ll have the flexibility to complete your work from home.

Intervention & Implementation

  • Design and implement strategies to support positive changes in identified behaviors.
  • Apply proactive, person-centered approaches to encourage behavior change, including de-escalation techniques to mitigate crisis.
  • Train and support caregivers and professional support teams in effective intervention techniques.

Monitoring & Adjustment

  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions through regular observation and data-informed review.
  • Adjust support plans as needed in response to client progress and evolving needs.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with case managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated support.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, families, and support systems, offering regular updates and guidance.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain timely, thorough documentation, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
  • Prepare written summaries of progress, strategies, and clinical recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Required Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Required current Washington State license or associate credential (LMHC, LMHCA, LMFT, LMFTA, LICSW, or LICSWA).
  • Minimum two years of experience in aging services, behavioral health, or healthcare settings (e.g., hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or long-term care) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort using technology for documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.

At Eldercare Counseling and Guidance Services, our Behavioral Support Specialists do more than provide care—they bring stability, clarity, and compassion to complex situations affecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. In this role, you’ll work closely with adult clients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support behavior change, ease distress, and promote connection.

This isn’t quick-fix work. It’s intentional, relationship-based care rooted in deep listening, evidence-informed strategies, and a commitment to sustainable outcomes. You’ll help create practical, strengths-based plans that stabilize care systems and improve day-to-day life for clients and those who support them.
