The Professional School Counselor supports creating a positive learning environment by building rapport and guiding students in self-reliance, personal growth, and decision-making. Assist in implementing district policies, mandates, and educational philosophy.Provide orientation and maintain student records related to guidance programs.Help students understand their strengths and challenges for personal and academic success.Administer and communicate assessment results; support academic and character recognition initiatives.Offer individual assistance to students with personal issues and collaborate with families and staff.Be familiar with IDEA and Section 504, aiding in intervention and accommodation plans.Utilize community and school resources, participate in crisis teams, and pursue professional development.Perform additional tasks as assigned by administration.Qualifications include a Master’s degree, a valid Special Services License, and endorsement in school counseling.
