Position Overview:
A district in the Clinton Township, MI area is seeking a School Social Worker to provide comprehensive student support services at the elementary level. This is a full-time, onsite role focused on supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide school-based social work services to elementary students
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Connect students and families to appropriate school and community resources
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Support intervention planning and student success strategies
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from a state-approved program
- Temporary or full School Social Work approval from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
- Strong knowledge of school-based social work practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a School Social Worker in a school setting
- Experience connecting students and families to internal and external resources
