Program Description:
Backcountry Wellness is an eating disorder treatment program founded with the mission of bridging comprehensive recovery with the demands of real life. Our treatment philosophy embraces compassion and understanding, safety and nurturing, and a focus on family involvement to equip our patients with the tools to make lasting changes within their lives. Backcountry Wellness provides immersive programming for children and adolescents who live with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake, Orthorexia, and Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).

Job Summary:

The Primary Therapist is an experienced licensed clinician (Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, etc.). The Primary Therapist guides clients through the treatment process and supports them in overcoming the challenges that arise on the road to recovery. Primary Therapists build meaningful therapeutic relationships with their clients which serve as the foundation for the recovery process and begin from the time they walk through the doors of Backcountry Wellness to the time they leave. The Primary Therapist provides evidenced-based clinical treatment through individual and group psychotherapy and has the opportunity to manage multiple cases at once, allowing the therapist to collaborate with the broader treatment team to facilitate customized solutions for each patient. A strong Primary Therapist leads case discussions on their patients and collaborates successfully with the Clinical Director, RD, the patient, and the patient’s family to maximize treatment effectiveness and facilitate a successful outcome.
