Summary:

The DBT Institute of Michigan is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrist to work as part of our multi-disciplinary treatment team at our residential treatment center.

This is a W-2 flexible position with an average range of 20 hours per week as well as on-call availability, when needed. The residential Psychiatrist will provide medication services that address mental health using cutting edge research and current trends for individuals with pervasive emotion dysregulation disorders and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Essential Position Functions:

  • Provide individual psychiatric assessments
  • Provide weekly resident med-check sessions
  • Completion of psychiatric progress notes
  • Medication management services
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team including the Chief

Clinical Officer and CEO

  • Effectively communicate with nursing staff regarding medication decisions
  • Effectively communicate with referring providers, residents and resident family members
  • Discharge planning
  • Availability for psychiatric emergency medication management, as needed
  • Assist in State and Federal regulations and CARF standards are met and maintained

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide cultural competent care with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community setting.
  • Requires physical and emotional stamina to deal with physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual needs of residents.
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Michigan
  • Valid DEA number and certificate
  • CPR certified
