Salary: $45,000 $52,000 per yearFull-Time Pre-Licensed Therapist (W2)Child & Family Therapist | LACMH, LMSW, LAMFT, or EquivalentResilient Kids Child & Family Therapy Middletown, DelawareYou chose this field for a reason. Maybe it was a child you wanted to help, a family system you understood from the inside, or simply a deep belief that people can heal when they feel genuinely seen and supported. Whatever brought you here, that instinct was right, and it deserves a practice that honors it.Working with children and families is some of the most meaningful and most demanding clinical work there is. You sit with kids who cant yet find the words for what they carry. You work alongside parents who are trying their hardest and need someone in their corner. You hold space for whole family systems in the middle of some of the hardest seasons of their lives. That work matters, and so do you.If you are a pre-licensed therapist looking for a practice that genuinely gets all of that - one that will invest in you, support you, and grow with you for the long term - Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy was built with you in mind.We are a small, close-knit group practice serving children, teens, and families in Southern New Castle County, Delaware. We are currently seeking a warm, organized, and growth-oriented pre-licensed clinician to join our team full-time.This is a W2 employee position, not a 1099 contractor role. We believe in creating a workplace where clinicians feel supported, protected, and invested in long term. Our goal is to provide the stability and care that allows therapists to focus on doing meaningful clinical work while also growing professionally and personally. Benefits include paid time off, paid supervision responsibilities, retirement savings options, workers compensation, unemployment protection, and employer-supported health insurance beginning after 60 days of employment. What This Role Is Really AboutThis is a long-term position, not a stepping stone. We designed it specifically to take pre-licensed clinicians all the way to full licensure, typically within two years, and then keep growing with us. Compensation increases automatically when you hit licensure milestones, and for clinicians with the interest and drive, there is a path toward becoming a clinical supervisor within our practice. We are not a high-volume agency. Our leadership team is small, accessible, and genuinely invested in your development as a clinician. You will have real clinical freedom to practice in your own style while still receiving strong structure, mentorship, and operational support.Supervision & Clinical SupportWe take supervision seriously because we know its the most important investment we can make in you as a clinician.Guaranteed 1 hour of individual supervision per week with your supervisor, not ad hoc check-insPaid supervision time. Your supervision hours are part of your paid work weekLeadership team is highly accessible and responsive between sessionsAI-assisted documentation tools to reduce paperwork burden without sacrificing documentation qualityOpportunities for training in play therapy, trauma-informed care, nature-based therapy, and moreWe understand that great clinicians are built through mentorship and experience. You are not expected to have it all figured out. You are expected to be curious, open to feedback, and committed to growing. What Makes Resilient Kids DifferentMost therapy practices give you an office, a randomly assigned caseload, and a chair, and call it a day. At Resilient Kids, we take a far more intentional approach. We believe therapists do their best work when they feel connected to where they work, who they work with, and the kind of therapy they provide. Rather than simply filling schedules, we thoughtfully match clinicians with the populations, environments, and therapeutic approaches where they feel most effective, energized, and fulfilled. We offer two distinct therapy environments both with the same supportive team, supervision, pay structure, and opportunities for growth:Office-Based Therapy SettingsOur Whitehall and Downtown Middletown locations provide warm, welcoming office environments that support play therapy, creativity, experiential work, relational care, and movement-based approaches with children, teens, and families. Both locations are intentionally designed to feel engaging and connected rather than rigid or overly clinical.Nature-Based Therapy SettingBuddys Place is our farm-based therapy environment where clinicians can provide evidence-informed care through nature-based approaches including:Horticultural therapy: gardening and plant-based interventions that support regulation, mindfulness, and connectionSmall farm animal-assisted therapy: therapeutic work involving animals such as chickens, rabbits, and dogs to support emotional awareness, relationship-building, and self-regulationEquine-assisted psychotherapy: evidence-informed work with horses that can be especially impactful for trauma, anxiety, attachment, and family systems workTraining and support are provided, and clinicians can pursue nature-based work based on their interests and clinical fit. For many children and families who struggle in traditional office settings, the farm environment creates therapeutic opportunities that few other practices can offer.Position DetailsFull-time W2 employee with all associated protections and benefitsApproximately 2830 hours of weekly client availability, with a consistent average of ~25 completed sessions per weekRemaining work hours include documentation, supervision, meetings, and care coordination all compensatedTwo evening shifts per week OR one weekend shift per week as part of regular availability (your choice)Primarily working with children, teens, and families caregiver involvement is a core part of treatmentTimely and accurate documentation expected in accordance with insurance, ethical, and practice standardsW2 Employment What That Actually Means for YouWe know the therapy job market in this area is full of 1099 contractor positions. We want to be fully transparent about how this role is different and why it matters. As a 1099 contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes, receive no employer-sponsored benefits, have no unemployment protection if things change, and are often left to navigate documentation, billing, and clinical support largely on your own. Many practices frame this as flexibility. In reality, it shifts significant financial and professional risk onto the clinician. As a W2 employee at Resilient Kids, you receive real protections and real benefits:Health insuranceEmployer payment of your Social Security and Medicare taxes saving you roughly 7.65% compared to self-employmentPaid Time Off your time away is compensatedDelaware Paid Leave (HDFA) paid family and medical leave for qualifying life events including childbirth, serious medical conditions, or caring for a family memberDelaware EARNS retirement program optional pre-tax retirement savings directly through payrollWorkers compensation coverage you are protected if something happens while you are workingUnemployment protection you have a safety net if this position ever endsPaid supervision your weekly individual supervision hour is compensated work time, not an unpaid obligationPaid administrative time documentation, meetings, and care coordination are part of your paid work week, not afterthoughtsWe believe transparency builds trust. If you have been comparing positions and trying to decode what you would actually take home under different arrangements, we are happy to walk through that honestly with you during the phone interview.CompensationWe believe all of your time as a clinician is valuable, not just the time spent in session. Our compensation structure reflects that. Compensation includes:Clinical session payPaid administrative and documentation timePaid team meetingsPaid supervision your weekly individual supervision hour is paid work time$5 bonus per completed session that begins after 5:00 PM on weekdays or takes place on weekendsPaid administrative time during cancellations and no-shows when used for documentation or approved clinical tasksAutomatic compensation increases tied to licensure milestonesWho Were Looking ForOur ideal candidate has experience working with children, families, and parents, and is genuinely passionate about continuing to learn and refine their clinical skills. You are looking for a full-time practice home where you can become an integrated member of a team, not just fill a slot on a caseload. You might be a great fit if you:Hold a provisional license in Delaware (LACMH, LMSW, LAMFT, or equivalent) and are actively working toward full licensureHave experience or a strong interest in working with children, teens, and family systemsAre collaborative, curious, and genuinely open to feedbackCan balance clinical warmth with accountability and organized documentation habitsAre interested in finding and developing your clinical specialty, and want a practice that will support thatHave interest or experience in play therapy, trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming care, LGBTQ+ affirming care, culturally responsive care, or creative and holistic approachesAre thinking about what your long-term career looks like, including possibly becoming a supervisor one dayYou are probably not the right fit if you are primarily motivated by hourly rate and are not especially invested in clinical growth, supervision quality, or team integration. This role is for clinicians who got into this field to provide quality care and want to keep getting better at it.What to Expect When You ApplyWe take hiring as seriously as you take finding the right practice. Heres what the process looks like:Submit your resume and complete our applicationPhone interview - well walk you through the practice in detail and answer your questions honestly. This is as much about you getting to know us as it is about us getting to know you.Mock supervision session with our Clinical Director - a chance to demonstrate your clinical thinking and get a real feel for what supervision and clinical leadership at Resilient Kids looks likeOur goal is for you to walk away from the process feeling confident that this is the right practice for you, or knowing clearly that it isnt. We want happy therapists, not just filled positions.Ready to apply?Submit your resume and complete our application. We look forward to getting to know you and to showing you what weve built here.
