Assessment Counselor - Brooklyn

Realization Center is an outpatient addiction/recovery center with locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. We are currently hiring assessment counselors for our Brooklyn location.

Assessment Counselor (bilingual preferred), needed for successful and fast paced outpatient treatment center (Brooklyn, NY location).

Duties and responsibilities:

NYS LICENSE OR CREDENTIAL REQUIRED

• Engage, educate and assist clients looking to participate in substance use treatment
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all intake related services to ensure compliance with insurance , OASAS, HIPAA guidelines
• Keep appropriate records on clients per Realization Center Outpatient guidelines, standards, and policies
• Provide service for scheduled and walk-ins. Assess potential clients for history of intoxication, drug use, suicidal/homicidal risk, and mental health disorder, reason for treatment and appropriateness for OP level of care treatment
• Address high-risk client issues with assistance of supervisor
• Participate in weekly supervision meetings and present your intake findings, communicate any necessary follow-up with the newly assigned case manager
• Perform other duties as delegated by your supervisor
• HOURS: 8:30-5:00

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge and interest in substance use treatment and mental health
• Excellent engagement skills
• Excellent assessment skills
• Experience with court mandated community a plus

Education / Degree requirement(s)

• LMSW's/ LCSW's/ LMHC's/ CASAC
