Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Clinician (AMFT, APCC, ACSW) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. The clinician will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or trauma histories. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding standards.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis, and other evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing mental health issues including PTSD, grief, addiction, gender issues, chronic pain management, and developmental disabilities.
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and accurate medical records while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to deliver remote mental health services.
- Collaborate with families, schools (special education), hospitals (hospital experience), and other support systems to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to support program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in case management activities including intake procedures and ongoing patient care coordination.
- Stay current with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or registration as an AMFT (Associate Marriage & Family Therapist), APCC (Associate Professional Clinical Counselor), or ACSW (Advanced Clinical Social Worker).
- Experience with psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and trauma-informed care.
- Demonstrated expertise working with children & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, autism spectrum disorder (working with people with autism), developmental disabilities (working with people with disabilities), and special education settings.
- Strong background in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, social work principles, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation purposes.
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions and treatments.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations involving PTSD care, grief counseling, chronic pain counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
