Lionheart Wellness & Recovery is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable counselor to join our team in a dual adult/adolescent counseling role. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping clients build recovery, develop healthier coping skills, and move forward with courage, accountability, and support.

Lionheart provides substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment services for adults and adolescents in a supportive, relationship-focused environment. We are looking for a counselor who can work effectively with both adult and adolescent clients, facilitate engaging groups, manage a mixed caseload, and contribute to a team culture rooted in compassion, professionalism, and growth.

Position Schedule

This is a full-time, four-day workweek position, Monday through Thursday.

Monday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Thursday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities

The counselor will provide direct clinical services to both adult and adolescent clients enrolled in Lionheart programming. Responsibilities include facilitating approximately 10 hours of group counseling per week, maintaining a caseload of up to 16 clients, and providing individual counseling, treatment planning, documentation, and ongoing support.

This role will include a mix of adult and adolescent clients and requires someone who is flexible, engaging, and able to adapt their counseling approach to meet the developmental and clinical needs of each population.

The position will also include filling in for other counselors’ groups as needed due to vacation, illness, or program coverage needs.

Duties Include

Facilitate adult and adolescent treatment groups in a professional, engaging, and clinically appropriate manner.

Provide individual counseling and case management support to assigned clients.

Maintain a caseload of up to 16 adult and adolescent clients.

Complete comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, reviews, progress notes, discharge planning, and other required documentation in a timely and compliant manner.

Support clients in developing relapse prevention skills, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, recovery supports, and personal accountability.

Coordinate care with families, probation, schools, referral sources, medical providers, mental health providers, and community supports as appropriate.

Participate in team meetings, supervision, consultation, and program development.

Provide coverage for other counseling groups when needed.

Maintain compliance with 245G requirements, ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

Required Qualifications

Current LADC or ADC-T credential required.

Experience working with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders preferred.

Experience working with adolescents preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

Ability to facilitate groups with confidence, creativity, and structure.

Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently while also being an active part of a collaborative team.

Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
