We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Evening Primary Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
- Facilitate motivational interviewing techniques to promote client engagement and motivation for change.
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, documenting clinical notes, treatment progress, and medical documentation accurately.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical staff, social workers, and case managers to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support.
- Participate in ongoing research initiatives and data collection efforts related to behavioral health outcomes and treatment efficacy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification preferred.
- Proven experience in child & family counseling, crisis management, hospital settings, or community care environments.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders such as PTSD, addiction issues, and behavioral health conditions.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical records management.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including diagnostic evaluation and intake procedures.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and medical documentation protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while managing multiple priorities in fast-paced settings.
