Hartford Job Corps Center is seeking dedicated and reliable Residential Advisors to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and structured living environment for our residential students and supporting their personal and academic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support students in the residential program during overnight hours
- Foster a positive, respectful community that promotes student retention, achievement, and independence
- Guide students in developing key life skills such as:
- Waking up and preparing for the day
- Maintaining personal hygiene and living areas
- Time management and punctuality for class
- Completing homework and laundry
- Engaging in recreational and group activities
- Use sound judgment and discretion to resolve student concerns and conflicts
- Maintain detailed case notes and documentation of student interactions and behavior
- Participate in seasonal cleaning and dormitory updates
- Serve as a positive role model at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
- Minimum of one year experience working with teens or young adults
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant databases
- Mature, dependable, and well-organized
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Additional Information:
- Classified as essential staff by the Department of Labor
- Must be punctual, remain awake and alert throughout the shift, and provide advance notice of absences
- Includes two paid breaks and a one-hour unpaid meal break
