  • Perform psychological tests for the purpose of assessing patient’s cognitive, mental, educational, and emotional functioning.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of treatment plans and goals.
  • Communicate professionally with healthcare personnel to ensure care collaboration and positive health and mental health outcomes.
  • Provide expert consultation on evidence-based psychosocial practices for children and adolescents, to include complex clinical presentations requiring integrated, collaborative care.
  • Develop objective treatment processes, procedures, and goals for patients.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Employee must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a Criminal History Background Check (CHBC). This position requires at least one contact per week or at least four (4) contacts per month with children under the age of 18.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series (Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, etc.)
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network within 30 days of employment.
  • This position may be designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position may require the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Additional information about transcripts is .Basic Requirement for a Clinical Psychologist (Pediatrics):Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments to pediatric or adolescent population; providing therapeutic services in an individual or group setting; and assisting with developing treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Selective Placement Factor:Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.EducationFOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
