We’re looking for a Membership Growth and Retention Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for developing, retaining, and increasing girl/adult membership, along with recruiting and providing ongoing support to volunteers. 

 

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility         Salary: $20.51/ hour, nonexempt  

 

We’re looking for dedicated individuals who: 

Believe in the Girl Scout Mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. 

Are excited to be actively involved in giving girls the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to become leaders in their own lives and their communities. 

 

Interested? Responsibilities would include:  


Participates in developing and implementing plans for membership growth and retention through the work of volunteers. 

Schedules and manages recruitment events in assigned areas approximately 2-3 times per week during peak seasons, either individually or with the assistance of volunteers. 

Delivers or supports the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in designated areas until adults are trained and ready to serve as volunteers. In some cases, direct support of troops/girls will be required.  

Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of belonging to community groups, organizations, and other constituencies within the council area. 

Provides onboarding and ongoing support, supervision, conflict management, and direction to volunteers by interpreting council policies, standards, and procedures. 

Actively participates in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude. 

 

Are these skills and experience you could share with our team? 


Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. 

Ability to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week; weekends and evenings required. 

Strong communication skills—listening as well as written & verbal communication—and ability to communicate with persons of diverse backgrounds. 

Minimum of 2-3 years related work experience. 

Strong interpersonal skills: ability to cultivate, motivate and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff from diverse backgrounds. 

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Frequent travel within the Council area is required. 

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
