Duties

  • Offer peer-led support and mentorship to adults experiencing mental health or behavioral health issues, fostering hope and empowerment.
  • Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive change.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations through crisis intervention and crisis management strategies, ensuring safety and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care, document interactions in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and track progress.
  • Provide education on behavioral health topics, addiction counseling, and social skills development to support ongoing recovery efforts.
  • Support clients in navigating community resources, housing options, employment opportunities, and other social services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, interventions, and progress notes within EHR systems while adhering to confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience with mental health recovery or behavioral health challenges is highly valued; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and crisis management with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling techniques, and mental health counseling practices.
  • Experience with mentoring individuals through recovery journeys and providing motivational interviewing.
  • Familiarity with social work practices and community resource navigation is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and case tracking.
