Job description:

Behavioral Therapist

Climbing Star · Home-based ABA therapy

We started Climbing Star because we believe every child deserves a chance to grow — on their own terms, at their own pace. We work with children and young adults (ages 3–21) with Autism Spectrum Disorder, bringing one-on-one ABA therapy directly into their homes across New York. It's personal, it's meaningful, and honestly? It's one of the most rewarding work you can do.

This role is a great fit if you have

At least 1 year of hands-on ABA therapy experience working directly with children or young adults with ASD — implementing behavior plans, running therapy sessions, and collecting data. If you're just getting started in ABA or haven't worked directly with kids with autism yet, this particular role isn't the right fit, but we'd encourage you to build that foundation and keep us in mind.

What the job actually looks like

You'll spend your days working one-on-one with kids in their homes — playing, practicing, encouraging, and celebrating the little wins that matter enormously to these families. No two days are the same. You'll follow treatment plans set by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), track progress with simple data collection, and be a steady, trusted presence for the children and families you work with.

You bring the experience. We bring the support, the structure, and a team that genuinely has your back.

Pay: $20–$25/hr, based on your experience

Hours: 10–30/week, flexible around your life

Location: Bronx NY, in clients' homes
Language: Spanish preferred.

Who we're hoping to find

We're not looking for a perfect resume. We're looking for someone who lights up around kids — someone who already knows the work, and does it with patience, warmth, and real commitment.

  • 1+ year of direct ABA experience with children or young adults with ASD — running sessions, following behavior plans, collecting data (required)
  • Reliable and communicative — families schedule their days around you
  • A positive attitude that doesn't waver when things get hard
  • Comfortable taking clinical direction from a BCBA and collaborating closely with families
  • RBT certification is a bonus — but if you don't have it yet, we can talk
  • Familiarity with CentralReach is helpful but not a dealbreaker

What it's like to work here

Small team, real support. Our BCBAs are accessible, our communication is open, and we genuinely care about the people who work with us — not just the clients. You'll have flexibility to build a schedule that works for your life, and supervisors who treat you like a professional, not just a pair of hands.

If you have the experience and this work genuinely excites you, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us a bit about your ABA background and what draws you to this kind of role. We read every application personally.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
