Job Description
The Individual Success Program (ISP) at MOORE MIDDLE SCHOOL is seeking a Behavior Interventionist who possesses a desire to work with students with behavioral and cognitive challenges. Students placed within the ISP need intensive behavioral, mental health, and life and job skills support. The ISP classroom at Moore Middle School serves students in upper high school grades and students 18-21 years of age with instruction focusing on completion of graduation credits and job skills. The Behavior Interventionist provides assistance to the staff to address and maintain appropriate student behavior. Additionally, this person may assist in other areas such as instruction, recreation, classroom organization, and general supervision of students. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher along with the building and program administrators.
A strong candidate for this position has experience working with children with behavioral issues, disruptive and/or at risk youth; must have the ability to create strong positive relationships with students, staff, and families; have a willingness to be trained in behavior techniques and instructional strategies; demonstrates effective communication/crisis intervention/resolution/mediation skills; as well as understands and applies the practices of cultural proficiency with students, staff and families.
$22.75 Hourly Pay Rate
