TriSource is seeking an experienced and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to provide trauma-informed counseling to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness—while also supervising and supporting a team of mental health counselors.
This role blends direct clinical care with clinical leadership, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and effective mental health services. The Counselor plays a key role in staff development, program quality, and collaborative care across multidisciplinary teams.
Employment: Temp to Perm
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with flexibility
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide immediate emotional and psychological support to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment and intervention plans
- Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based counseling (individual and group), including approaches such as Psychological First Aid (PFA), CBT, and solution-focused therapy
- Facilitate psycho-educational and life skills groups
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency policies and state/federal regulations
- Identify client needs and connect individuals to appropriate community resources and referrals
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy
- Must be license eligible in Florida
- Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass FDLE Level II background screening
- Strong knowledge of community resources and social service systems
