School Social Worker/LMSW at Canarsie Childhood Center

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Social Worker/LMSW to join our team at Canarsie Childhood Center in Brooklyn, New York. As a key member of our 4410 special education preschool program, you will work closely with our staff to provide center-based services to our young students.

About the Role:

As a School Social Worker/LMSW at Canarsie Childhood Center, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting intake evaluations and providing play therapy to students aged 3-5

• Interfacing with CPSE administrators, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless communication

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to support student growth and development

• Providing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay current in the field

Requirements:

• NYS licensure as a Social Worker/LMSW

• Fingerprinted with NYC DOE

• Experience working with preschool-age populations (ages 3-5)

• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community agencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with NYC DOE requirements and regulations

• Not have been employed by NYC DOE in the past year
