Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support individuals facing various challenges such as developmental disabilities, trauma, addiction, and mental health disorders. As a QMHP, you will play a key role in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions through individual, group, and family counseling. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide direct support through individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and gender issues counseling.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute episodes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management services and ensure seamless integration of care across inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and community settings.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; record patient progress notes, medical records, and behavioral health data accurately.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to enhance evidence-based practices and contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; relevant licensure or certification preferred.
- Proven experience working with children, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral management techniques, crisis intervention methods, and trauma-informed care approaches such as PTSD care.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct intake assessments effectively while demonstrating cultural sensitivity.
