Evaluates and treats patient populations for therapy needsResponsibilities:
  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and needs. Develops and implements therapeutic interventions appropriate to treatment goals.
  • Performs interventions utilizing music therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age, condition, and needs of the patient or group served.
  • Documents patient information, therapy provided, feedback and results. Designs, coordinates and provides music therapy services and programs for a variety of patient and community populations.
  • Serves as a resource to the organization regarding music therapy. May supervise music therapists, students and interns.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
Board Certified (Mt-BC) by the certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
