Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Instructor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and growth in children and youth! In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging activities, foster a safe and inclusive environment, and inspire young minds through creative play, educational lessons, and team-building exercises. Duties

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of fun and educational activities tailored to different age groups, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games
  • Maintain a safe environment by supervising children at all times and implementing proper behavior management strategies
  • Provide first aid when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all campers
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through compassionate care and tailored activities
  • Foster positive relationships with campers by encouraging teamwork, respect, and inclusivity
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders regarding camper progress or concerns
  • Assist with daily camp routines such as check-in/check-out procedures, snack time supervision, and setting up activity spaces

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills to guide behavior positively and maintain order during activities
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate engagement
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) to ensure safety standards are met
  • Ability to work effectively with children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education support or behavioral management techniques
  • Strong communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, sports coaching, theater arts or similar interests that can enrich the camp experience
