School Psychologist - Chicago, IL (2026-2027 School Year)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative School Psychologist to join our educational team in the Oak Park area for the upcoming school year. This role is essential in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students across various grade levels. You will work closely with educators, administrators, and families to create a supportive learning environment and implement effective interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluations & Assessments: Lead the multidisciplinary team in conducting initial and triennial evaluations. Administer and interpret psychological and educational tests to determine eligibility for special education services.
IEP Participation: Facilitate and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, helping to develop measurable goals and appropriate accommodations.
Consultation: Provide expert consultation to teachers and staff regarding classroom management, behavioral interventions, and instructional strategies.
Student Support: Offer short-term individual or group counseling to students to address social-emotional barriers to learning.
Crisis Intervention: Assist in school-wide crisis prevention and response efforts as needed.
Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations (IDEA).
Requirements:
Master’s or Specialist Degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement (formerly Type 73).
Prior experience in an urban school setting is a plus, but strong clinical interns are encouraged to apply.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a high degree of proficiency in digital documentation systems.
