Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will prefer a smaller more family-oriented office environment and can provide high-quality mental health care to patients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions. This role requires a strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Provide medication management, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications.
• Perform medical procedures as necessary, including IV insertion and catheter care.
• Engage in emergency medicine practices when required, ensuring patient safety and stability.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric care practices.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and enhance treatment outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Assist in triage processes for patients requiring immediate attention.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
• Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent licensure.
• Proficiency in medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
• Experience in emergency medicine is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform laboratory tests as needed for patient assessment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical research participation.
