Position Summary

The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Adult Day Program under the clinical supervision and direction of the BCBA and within agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The BCaBA provides behavior-support implementation, staff coaching, data collection, and program support to help individuals increase independence, participation, skill development, and overall quality of life. The BCaBA does not function as the primary clinical authority and does not replace the BCBA for duties requiring BCBA-level oversight, approval, or Behavior Committee review.

The BCaBA works closely with the supervising BCBA and other members of the leadership team to strengthen identified aspects of the Adult Day Program. The ideal candidate has experience planning skill acquisition and behavior interventions for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in day habilitation, school, clinic, or home settings. Experience supporting adults is preferred.

Reporting Relationship

The BCaBA also works closely with the Day Program Manager, Assistant Manager, and other agency leadership to support day program operations and service delivery. Agency leadership retains ultimate authority for operational oversight, scheduling, staffing, communication pathways, service coordination, and final administrative decisions.

Position Authority

The BCaBA functions within the scope of delegation provided by the BCBA and within the operational structure established by program leadership. Clinical communication, participation in team meetings, and behavior-support activities are coordinated through the BCBA and program management. The BCaBA may contribute recommendations and feedback but may not independently make service commitments, schedule team meetings, authorize restrictive procedures, or act outside agency policy, ISP requirements, DDD authorization, or leadership direction.

· Monitor implementation of supports and provide feedback to the BCBA and program leadership regarding effectiveness, barriers, and areas needing adjustment.

· Participate in weekly, bi weekly or as scheduled touch base meetings

· Review assigned behavior-related incidents, identify trends or concerns, and elevate relevant information to the BCBA and leadership for follow-up.

· Assist in preparing summaries, graphs, training records, competency checks, and supporting materials for clinical review, quality improvement, and committee processes.

· Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration consistent with agency procedures while ensuring communication with families, guardians, Support Coordinators, DSP’s and external stakeholders occurs only under the direction of the BCBA and program leadership.

· Provide behavior-analytic consultation, under BCBA supervision, to DSPs, parents or guardians as appropriate, and other internal stakeholders regarding implementation of approved supports and strategies.

· Develop and deliver effective training and coaching to staff using strong communication and presentation skills. Support staff in building competence and confidence in teaching meaningful, functional skills to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

· Provide ongoing guidance, modeling, and feedback to ensure the consistent implementation of evidence-based strategies that promote independence and improved quality of life for all individuals served.

· Promote the program through professional development, coaching, and mentorship to direct support staff and other team members.

· Review documentation systems, and behavior data to identify patterns and make recommendations to the BCBA and program leadership regarding programming, treatment integrity, and learner progress.

· Assist in planning skill acquisition programs focused on communication, adaptive behavior, activities of daily living, functional independence, and participation across settings.

· Support the use of task analyses, community-based behavior supports, and evidence-based teaching strategies to promote independence and generalization of skills.

· Experience with or ability to support programming informed by Verbal Behavior, Essentials for Living, and Skill-Based Treatment is preferred, as applicable to learner needs and under BCBA direction.
