Mind Body Nature Counseling integrates the mind, body, and natural world toward whole-body nourishment and empowered living. Located in Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, the practice provides trauma-informed, inclusive, and relational mental health care for children, adults, neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQIA+ and queer communities, women, mothers, creatives, entrepreneurs, helpers, healers, and deeply self-reflective individuals.

The practice values accessibility, inclusivity, compassion, authenticity, and flexibility, while maintaining an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and affirming approach to care. Clinical work integrates mindfulness-based, somatic, body-based, ecotherapy, nature-based, psychodynamic, art-based, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches. In addition to individual counseling, the practice offers workshops, groups, and community-centered wellness experiences designed to support healing, connection, and transformation.

Role Description

This is a W-2 position for a Pre-Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHCA) located in Indianapolis. The LMHCA will provide individual, group, and/or family therapy services utilizing trauma-informed, relational, and holistic therapeutic approaches. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, and collaborating with supervisors and other providers as appropriate.

The clinician will participate in ongoing individual and group supervision while working toward independent licensure (LMHC). The role offers flexibility in scheduling, office space provided at no cost, and opportunities for additional income through workshops, groups, and community events. Clinicians may also pursue optional mentorship and training in nature-based therapy, somatic modalities, and mindfulness-based approaches.

This role serves Indiana Medicaid and Medicaid MCE clients, as well as self-pay clients. Please note that LMHCAs may not provide services to Medicare clients.

Qualifications

Required Licensure:

Current and active LMHCA license in good standing in the state of Indiana, with ongoing supervision compliance toward independent licensure.

Clinical Skills:

Strong foundation in trauma-informed care, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, ethical clinical practice, and individual/group/family therapy services.

Specialized Skills:

Experience or interest in mindfulness-based, somatic, body-based, psychodynamic, ecotherapy, nature-based, art-based, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches.

Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent communication, relational presence, active listening, and ability to build authentic therapeutic relationships with diverse client populations.

Administrative Skills:

Ability to maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation while adhering to ethical standards, payer requirements, and practice policies.

Supervision & Professional Development:

Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in:

  • Bi-weekly 1-hour individual supervision
  • Weekly 1.5-hour group supervision
  • Professional development and mentorship opportunities

Compensation & Benefits:

  • W-2 employee position
  • 60/40 fee split (clinician receives 60% after taxes are withheld)
  • $250 annual continuing education stipend
