Job Summary:
Innerlight Community Advocates is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) or LPC to provide counseling and crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing severe mental illness or emotional disturbances. This role aims to reduce symptoms and prevent the need for more restrictive treatment settings. The LPC-A will collaborate with family members, law enforcement, hospital staff, and other community organizations to provide trauma-informed and client-centered care in homes, schools, and other community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in wraparound mental health services and a passion for empowering clients to achieve independence and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide authorized counseling and crisis intervention services to clients per the treatment plan established by the Clinical Director.
- Use independent clinical judgment to assess and address client needs with guidance from the Clinical Director.
- Collaborate with other providers, such as case managers, psychiatrists, and community resources, to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid Rules, HHSC Contracts, and company policies.
- Submit documentation within 48 hours of services provided, ensuring compliance with state and organizational guidelines.
- Provide crisis services within the community as needed, helping individuals manage acute mental health crises.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to monitor and adjust client care plans.
- Work directly with both minor and adult clients in community settings to provide trauma-informed care.
Qualifications:
- Valid LPC-A license in the state of Texas.
- Texas CANS and ANSA certified.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices for treating mental health disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse client populations.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and maintaining client records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based visits.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with Medicaid populations or underserved communities.
- Previous experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A).
- Familiarity with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with wraparound care providers to ensure comprehensive service delivery for clients.
