Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intensive Home Based Treatment (IHBT) Social Worker to join our mental health services team. This role involves providing comprehensive behavioral health support to children and families within their home and other environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in crisis intervention, addiction counseling, and child welfare, with a strong commitment to fostering positive outcomes through evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing. The IHBT Social Worker will play a vital role in managing crisis situations, developing individualized treatment plans, and supporting families through various challenges related to behavioral health and social services.
Duties
- Conduct in-home assessments to evaluate the mental health, behavioral, and social needs of children and families.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address specific family dynamics and behavioral health goals.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management services to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff..
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote engagement and motivate children toward positive change.
- Supervise and mentor families, including childcare support, fostering skills for healthier family functioning.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with agency standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive support for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training related to crisis intervention, addiction counseling, child welfare, and other relevant areas.
Experience
- Proven experience in social work or behavioral health settings, preferably within home-based or community programs.
- Strong background in crisis intervention, crisis management, and addiction counseling for children and youth.
- Experience supervising or mentoring families or youth is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of child welfare systems, Section 8 housing programs, Medicare regulations, and workforce development initiatives is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases involving mental health issues such as behavioral health challenges and substance use disorders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and families.
- Prior experience working with community resources and coordinating care across multiple agencies is advantageous. Guaranteed Full time or Part time hours, must hold a professional license
Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
