Job Objective: Performs support services for the school psychologist.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds required state department of education credentials.
- Acts in accordance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- BA in education or related field required.
- Must obtain an SBOE educational aide permit or higher.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the service center’s service area.
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
- Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
- Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.
Note: Employees must obtain training and maintain skills to fulfill compliance
requirements applicable to the position as required by board policy and state/federal
law.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates Evaluation Team Report (ETR) process and schedules meetings under the direction of the school psychologist.
- Initiates contact with parents, school personnel and community resources to facilitate the ETR process. Maintains an effective records management system. Develops essential documentation based on academic evaluations, assessment information, caseload data, etc.
- Ensures the report is completed prior to the proposed meeting date and includes all required elements based on the referral question or examination of disability category for reevaluation.
- Helps investigate student concerns (e.g., abuse/neglect, attendance, discrimination, domestic violence, emotional/behavioral issues, pregnancy, poverty, self-esteem, substance abuse, etc.).
- Advocates for students. Facilitates inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
- Helps students make appropriate choices and improve personal skills. Encourages creativity, critical-thinking, cultural awareness, democratic values, empathy, ethical conduct and self-reliance.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of all required Medicaid reports.
2. Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images.

CONTRACT: Per the 2026-2027 school calendar. This position is full time position and supports Preschool and K-12 populations.

SALARY: Based on the adopted salary schedule and the candidate’s experience.
