For more information on our philosophy and services, please tour our website www.jfsla.org The Meal Service Coordinator assures that participants receive appetizing and safe food, either onsite or at home.Qualifications: Customer Service OrientedCurrent unrestricted CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance and clean driving recordMust have valid CA driver’s license and proof of InsuranceTravel to multiple work sites may be requiredExperience working with the elderly or in social service organizations Must be able to maintain records, work easily with a variety of people, and organize site activitiesMust be able to work with volunteers Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skillsBasic math and record keeping skillsExperience with basic data entry and the ability to quickly learn email and record/data base systems required.Must obtain ServSafe Manager certification within 2 months of employmentAble to lift 30lb with or without assistanceMust be able to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull, raise arms above head, twist and grip items with or without assistanceMust be able to stand for long period of timeMust be able to use both hands and capable of performing repetitious dutiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionMust pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Organize and coordinate a senior nutrition site which may include data entry responsibilities and serve food according to HACCP guidelinesCoordinate and assist in the assembly and packing of home delivered meals for delivery and/or grab and goMaintain records, attend staff meetings and training sessions as required Perform outreach activities to ensure the program meets annual attendance goals. Maintain food wastage < 3%Observe all food safety procedures, including accurately taking and recording food/equipment temperatures Enter data on client meal participation weekly to ensure timely reporting to program funding sourcesMonitor/ record donations and make bank deposits as neededMaintain updated waiting list for all areasComplete client intake assessment forms to evaluate program eligibility and update data base accordinglyMaintain records; attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
