Milieu Counselor - Adolescent Eating Disorder Program

Full-Time PHP/IOP Milieu Counselor Position
The Healthy Teen Project - San Francisco location
Start Date: Early to mid-June

This role is viewed as the “glue” that holds the milieu together in that this individual is typically with the clients for a majority of the day. The milieu counselor’s primary roles include supporting the clinical team to facilitate daily programming, such as supervising clients during non-group times, facilitating groups and meals, providing safety and bathroom observations, conducting in-vivo interventions, as appropriate, and creating a safe and supportive milieu environment.

Specific duties include:
· Facilitating supported meals alongside Registered Dietitian
· Providing meal time interventions
· Therapeutic group facilitation
· Charting
· Collaboration with an interdisciplinary treatment team
· Providing milieu observations and feedback during rounds
· Assist with ongoing research study by providing pre & post-tests and data entry

Please note, this is an employment opportunity and not a practicum or internship placement.
While we provide oversight and supervision, you would not receive clinical service hours in this role. Our most recent milieu counselors have been either master’s level students completing their graduate coursework or bachelor’s level graduates who are looking for experience prior to graduate school. A minimum of an Associate degree (preferably social work, psychology or nursing) is required for this position.
