ABOUT IBERIA COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER:

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services.

ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Proffessional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the new Surrey Street CHC in Lafayette, LA opening in the Fall 2026.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, with oversight also provided by Contract or Staff Psychiatrist, the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) renders safe, quality mental health care to patients. The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) assists in supervision of medical support staff and performs related duties. The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability of the delivery and management of patient care. The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy/psycho-educational services, case coordination/management, arrange for discharge (discharge planning) care, and advocacy for mental health patients of ICCHC and its satellites. The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will also address mental well being and mental health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • EDUCATION: The candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent, graduate of an accredited college or university program with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology for a LPC or Social Work for a LCSW, and hold a current State of Louisiana license as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Credentialing as a Clinical Social Worker and license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a primary mental health care setting/environment is preferred. Experience providing psychosocial and psychological services to underserved populations preferred.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE: The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) should have knowledge in clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy/psycho-educational services, case coordination/management, arrange for discharge (discharge planning) care, and advocacy for mental health patients of ICCHC and its satellites. The Licensed Professional Counselor must possess highly effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
