Job Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in providing direct support and intervention to individuals with behavioral challenges, particularly children and those with developmental disabilities. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT implements individualized treatment plans, collects data on client progress, and assists in creating a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
- Assist in the development of care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients in various settings, including home, school, or community environments.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure consistency in care.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
- Provide support for daily living activities as needed.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles.
- Proficient in data collection techniques relevant to behavioral health.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and terminology.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Ability to create and follow detailed care plans effectively.
- Competence in managing medical records accurately.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
- A background in behavioral health is highly desirable.
