Licensed LCSW or LPC – Telehealth Joint Commission Accreditation Consultant (1099, Remote)

  • Job Type: 1099 Independent Contractor – Part-Time
  • Hours: Up to 10 hours per week
  • Compensation: $80.00/hour
  • Engagement Length: Approximately 4 months
  • Location: 100% Remote (Must hold an active, unrestricted Texas license)

Job Summary

A Texas-based telehealth LLC is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)to serve as a part-time clinical and accreditation consultant. The organization is already actively engaged in The Joint Commission accreditation pipeline, with an established Health Care Organization (HCO) ID and active payments to TJC in good standing. The goal of this engagement is to complete all remaining accreditation-readiness activities, support the survey process, and achieve Joint Commission Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation within approximately four (4) months.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role offering up to 10 hours per week at a flat rate of $80.00 per hour. The ideal candidate is a clinically experienced, detail-oriented mental health professional with prior exposure to Joint Commission accreditation who can work independently, manage deadlines, and produce compliance-ready documentation in a fully virtual environment.

Organization Status

To support a smooth and efficient engagement, the following foundational steps have already been completed:

  • Texas LLC established and operational
  • Joint Commission HCO ID assigned
  • Active payments and account in good standing with The Joint Commission
  • Organization is actively positioned within the TJC accreditation pipeline

The contractor will not be starting from zero — this engagement focuses on readiness, documentation, and survey support, not initial TJC registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical liaison with The Joint Commission throughout the remainder of the accreditation process, ensuring accurate, timely, and effective communication and submission of all required materials.
  • Provide telehealth psychotherapy sessions as needed to fulfill clinical visit requirements outlined under TJC Behavioral Health Care standards.
  • Complete thorough, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the company’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Assist in the development, drafting, and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), clinical policies, and accreditation-readiness documentation.
  • Conduct gap analysis against TJC Behavioral Health Care standards and recommend evidence-based, TJC-aligned solutions.
  • Support mock surveys, internal audits, tracer methodology preparation, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Assist with Evidence of Standards Compliance (ESC) submission, if applicable, following the on-site or virtual survey.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all communications, documentation, and clinical work.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Texas license as an LCSW or LPC (LCSW-S or LPC-S a plus).
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy, including at least 1 year delivering services via telehealth.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission Behavioral Health Care accreditation standards and the survey process.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting clinical SOPs, policies, or accreditation-related documentation.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR platforms and electronic clinical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Ability to operate as a 1099 independent contractor (responsible for own taxes, equipment, and professional liability insurance).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior involvement in a successful Joint Commission, CARF, or NCQA accreditation process.
  • Experience supporting startup or growth-stage telehealth organizations.
  • Familiarity with Texas Health and Safety Code, HIPAA, and state telehealth regulations.

Engagement Terms

  • Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor (not a W-2 employee)
  • Rate: $80.00 per hour, paid on a documented invoice basis
  • Hours: Maximum of 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling set by the contractor
  • Term: Approximately 4 months, with potential to extend for ongoing post-accreditation compliance support
  • Equipment: Contractor must supply their own HIPAA-compliant workspace, computer, and reliable high-speed internet
  • Liability: Contractor must maintain active professional liability (malpractice) insurance throughout the engagement

How to Apply

Qualified candidates are invited to submit:

1. A current resume or CV

2. A brief cover letter outlining relevant Joint Commission or accreditation experience

3. Proof of active, unrestricted Texas LCSW or LPC licensure

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
