Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing support and guidance to clients. This role requires a blend of client access assistance and counseling expertise, as you will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing tailored solutions, and facilitating effective communication between clients and our services.
Duties
- Conduct telephone screenings to understand client needs and develop personalized plans.
- Provide education to clients regarding various state and federal programs for which they may qualify .
- Engage in community outreach to promote benefits counseling services within a fourteen county service area.
- Utilize advocacy skills to address clients’ needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service is preferred.
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse clientele.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for successful interactions with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with community based services and/or medicaid programs is a plus.
- Previous experience in telephone-based interviewing is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills to assess client needs and evaluate service effectiveness.
- A passion for helping older adults, individuals living with disabilities and their caregivers access supportive services that make a positive impact on their quality of life.
