Job Overview
As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges, particularly those diagnosed with autism. Your primary responsibility will be to implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help clients develop essential life skills and reduce challenging behaviors.
Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
- Conduct direct 1:1 therapy sessions with clients
- Collect and record data on client progress during therapy sessions
- Assist in patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation processes
- Collaborate with the treatment team to provide feedback on client progress
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to teach new skills and modify behaviors
- Work closely with individuals with autism spectrum disorder to improve their quality of life
-Assist in health and hygiene routines such as toileting, diaper changes, toothbrushing, handwashing, etc.
Requirements
- Previous experience or education in behavioral therapy or special education is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder
- Proficiency in data collection related to client progress
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to learn and apply new therapeutic techniques as directed by BCBAs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to play with and keep up with active children, including being able to move quickly throughout the work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
